Athletics
At St. Paul, we believe physical activity, teamwork, and healthy competition are part of a well-rounded education. Whether your child is a dedicated athlete or just looking for a fun way to stay active, there are meaningful opportunities to get involved both through our school-based programs and through our partnership with a neighboring school.
Schedule a TourSt. Mary's Partnership
St. Paul partners with St. Mary's Catholic School in Royal Oak to offer students access to organized team sports during the fall and spring seasons. Through this partnership, students can participate in sports including:
- Basketball
- Volleyball
- Track
- Baseball and Softball
It's a great way for St. Paul students to compete, build friendships, and stay active alongside peers from the broader Royal Oak community.

School Programs
Beyond our St. Mary's partnership, St. Paul offers several school-based athletic programs led by our own staff.

Running Club (Cross Country)
Each fall, St. Paul's Running Club gives students the chance to build endurance, discipline, and confidence through long-distance running. Led by Principal Mr. Francik, students learn pacing, breathing techniques, and what it takes to push through a challenge.
Students in grades 5 and up have the opportunity to compete at the Michigan Lutheran State Cross Country Meet each year. It's one of the most rewarding experiences the school offers, and students who participate carry that sense of accomplishment with them well beyond race day.

Girls' Volleyball Club
Our Girls' Volleyball Club offers a fun, encouraging environment for students to learn the fundamentals of the sport. Led by Mrs. Jaclyn Moelich, the club focuses on skill development, teamwork, and game rules, with practices and friendly scrimmages giving students real experience on the court.
Whether your daughter is new to volleyball or has played before, there's a place for her here.

Floor Hockey Club
Floor Hockey Club brings students together every Friday for skill-building drills and friendly scrimmages. It's fast-paced, fun, and a great way to burn off energy and build teamwork at the end of the week. Students of all skill levels are welcome.

Physical Education
Every St. Paul student participates in physical education as part of the regular school day. Our PE curriculum covers individual and team sports, fundamental fitness skills, and recreation, giving all students a strong foundation in physical health and movement regardless of their interest in competitive athletics.
